Let's dive into the intoxicating world of Electronic Dance Music and explore the voices in the industry. This month we will be talking about Dave on the track. You might recognize him through his famous track singles like "Barro" and "Tolosa" but first, let's go deeper into his background.

Dave was born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he lived for the first fourteen years of his life and attended a school called Ethiopian International School Jeddah. During his time there, he joined a dance crew and also loved rapping a lot. He would often get into rap battles with his friends, and his love for music grew. He started performing in high school and finally started producing in the summer of his junior year. He first got interested in producing through his friend, Tomas Kuts, and got hooked on the idea of how to make such talented songs when he heard his friend play beats.

In his first year of attending university (Wollo University), he was so dedicated to his passion; he would go to the computer lab through different hassles, install the software to produce, import the sounds, and spend hours doing what he loved. He then took the files back to his flash disk to have the whole thing erased in the morning and repeat the routine every night.

In his third year, he produced his 251's first album titled "Nizret" followed by "Legoda" ft. Alula and Gedi, "Ene alehu" ft. Tinsu, and composed the music "Ajaiba" by Ziggy zaga ft.Abebe kefene, which was produced by Mickey Jano and Mastered by Abegasu. After that, he composed and Mixed, and mastered various artists. Dave said that he believed he had a real shot in music when he had an amazing response to his music from Michael Hailu (previous Jano Band guitarist), Alemayehu Demeke, Befi Yad, and Gossaye Tesfaye, and decided to go through with it. After graduating from university with a degree in computer science and already having worked with various artists, the young producer had a bright future in music.

During quarantine, he entered Tyrese Gibson’s "ring the alarm challenge" online. Soon he found out that he won the challenge, which opened him up to the international listeners’ base and allowed him to work with artists of different nationalities. More so during quarantine, he released his hit song Barro featuring Zee Abel. He said the meaning behind that song is often missed and explained the mainline, "Yeshinfet simetehin esketig abarrew" clarifying that “barrow” was derived from “Abarrew”.

Contrary to the type of music he produces, Dave loves to listen to acoustic songs. The artists he listens to include JP Cooper and Jon Bellion. He also listens to other inclusive genres, and his influences include Major Lazer, Avicii, Henry Fong, DJ Snake, Kashmere, and other several artists. He wants his music to create a positive influence and get his audience to feel something when they listen to him, be it a positive message, deep emotions, or laughter.

When asked how people would describe him, he said that he often came off as "the guy that never gets out of his studio", "the sober guy" and that he is easygoing. It is important to him to be a nice person while also being disciplined. He says to the next generation,

"Pick a pathway to what you love and never expect a quick outcome or any shortcuts. Take your time."
