Liya Gole started her makeup career at an early age. She says the most difficult part of her profession would be the amount of patience it requires.

Born and raised in Ethiopia, Liya Gole started her makeup career at an early age. Starting with doing makeup at her sister's wedding she grew more inclined to makeup. the talented artist mentioned that she always "had a heart for art". She loves sketching and she took a liking towards makeup as a branch of art. She loves music, writing, and also learned how to play the guitar.

With the pressure of earning a living, Liya took up courses like accounting and marketing while doing makeup on the side. Finally, she wants to learn makeup at the London College of makeup and got certified as a makeup artist by the International makeup association. Taking these classes ignited her fire to come back to Ethiopia and start her own school for makeup. Starting this institution has been a vision of hers since 2017. She worked on fulfilling her dreams over the past few years and released a textbook guide for her school during the quarantine. The school opened its doors in September 2020 and started its classes in November 2020.

What makes Liya distinctive is that she always sketches out the makeup look she imagines before she applies it to people. She says the most difficult part of her profession would be the amount of patience it requires. "Maybe it's because I'm comparing it to past business ventures I've been involved in." Another challenge she faced was not being able to spend weekends with her family especially during wedding seasons since makeup requires hours of work; which mostly takes place late at night until early morning.

When asked what was most important to her, she replied with first and foremost, God and her spirituality, then her family after that her work, and finally her friends and people around her. She wants her career further than where it is now to hopefully franchise compete in the global market. She sees a vision for her school to stand out in Ethiopia and provide the platform for other young makeup artists to be able to learn in their own country.
